Wayne Dee Barnes, Sr., 88, of Sun City West, Arizona went home to our Lord and Savior on October 21, 2025. He was born to the late George and Lola Barnes in Taylor, Arizona on April 29, 1937. Wayne married Betty on August 17, 1960; they raised their two children in Laveen, Arizona.
Wayne retired from APS after 19 years as an electrician in 1997, post-retirement he and Betty spent many years traveling in their RV, exploring the country and chasing cooler weather. Wayne served in the Navy from 1955 to 1959, and was active throughout his life with the Lions Club, enjoyed fishing, socializing with his friends and neighbors and
spending time with his family.
Wayne is survived by a daughter Cynthia & Ron Kee, daughter-in-law Carrie (Barnes) Gofourth, grandchildren Savanah (Barnes) & Cameron Gustafson, Brianne Kee, Hailey (Barnes) & David Byrd, Austin & Katelyn Kee, 6 great grandchildren and 2 brothers, Forest & Dale. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty (2022), son Wayne “Dee” Barnes, Jr. (2007)
and 4 siblings.
